Create Your Account
Open Republic and choose the sign-in option to continue through Discord. Authorize your connection, complete the eligibility and policy steps, and create your Republic account. Your Discord connection controls access to your account; your public handle and display name identify you on Republic. Never give another person your Discord password or authorization tokens.
- Choose a recognizable display name and a handle people can use to find and mention you.
- Open your profile and select Edit profile. Add a profile picture, banner, and biography describing who you are and what you post.
- Keep private contact details, credentials, and identifying documents out of your profile and uploads.
Find People and Topics
Open Explore and search for an account name, handle, or topic. Open a profile to see its biography and posts, then select Follow to add that account to your Following feed. Home also recommends posts using your follows and interests. Start with accounts whose work you want to see regularly; you can unfollow or mute an account later.
- Posts shows an account's posts. Replies shows its responses to other posts.
- Reposts shows posts it has shared. Media shows posts with photos or videos.
Publish and Take Part
Use the composer on Home or select Post to open a larger composer. Enter your text, add attachments if needed, and select Post when you are ready. Open an existing post to reply to it. Repost shares the original; a quote adds your own comment while keeping the original attached. Like a post to show interest, or save it to Favorites to return to it.
Manage Your Experience
Open Notifications for replies, mentions, follows, and other account activity. Use an account's profile menu to mute or block it, and use a post or profile's Report option for a rule violation. Settings contains your account information, profile labels, blocked and muted accounts, and accessibility controls. Account Standing explains restrictions and provides appeal information for decisions affecting you.
