Search for the subject, official account, or public figure you want to discuss. Open a post to see its full text and replies, then write your response in the reply composer. Quote a post when you want to add a separate comment with the original attached. Follow accounts you want to hear from regularly and use Following to keep up with their posts.

Make Your Point Clearly

Name the policy, proposal, decision, or event you are discussing. Separate what happened from what you think should happen. Link to a statement or document when your argument relies on it, and identify the relevant date. A proposed measure is not an adopted decision. When quoting someone, preserve qualifications that affect the meaning and distinguish their position from your response.

Disagree Without Targeting People

Criticism of public figures, institutions, beliefs, and Republic is permitted. A controversial opinion, strong language, or disagreement does not automatically violate the rules. Threats, targeted harassment, discriminatory abuse, and disclosure of private information do. Do not direct others to harass an account or evade a block to continue unwanted contact. Use mute or block when you want to step away from an exchange.

Keep Participation Instructions Accurate

Do not deliberately mislead people about when, where, or how to vote, register, or take part in a civic process. Do not impersonate election authorities, fabricate official instructions, or intimidate participants. When sharing practical instructions, use the relevant official source and retain its date and context. Request a Factcheck for a factual claim that needs examination, and report conduct such as intimidation or impersonation through the post or profile menu.
