Verification and Account Affiliations

Republic has verification types for public figures, organizations, and government accounts. A verification badge identifies the account's approved status on Republic. It does not mean every statement the account makes is correct, grant permission to break the rules, or guarantee that a linked website is safe. Check the handle as well as the display name when choosing an account to follow or contact.

An affiliation connects an account to an organization. Its organization badge may show the organization's profile picture next to the account's name. Follow the linked organization to see which organization the account is associated with. An affiliation and an account's own verification are separate signals: one describes an organizational relationship, while the other describes the account's verification type.

Do not submit passwords, private account credentials, identity-document numbers, or information that exposes someone else. Submitting an application does not award a badge; approval is recorded separately.

1. Open Verification from Republic's navigation.
2. Choose the verification type that matches the account and identify who or what it represents.
3. Explain your relationship to the account's subject and why verification is relevant.
4. Provide public evidence links that establish the identity or relationship you describe. Explain the connection rather than submitting unrelated links.
5. Submit the application, then return to Verification to see its status and review note.

Parody, commentary, and fan accounts must make their unofficial status clear with the appropriate profile label. A familiar name or image is not enough to establish an affiliation. If an account falsely claims to represent you or your organization, open its profile menu and report the misleading identity. Identify the false claim and the public information that demonstrates the problem.
