Report the Item That Contains the Problem

Use a post report for conduct in that post. Use a profile report for misleading account identity or a problem with the profile itself. Reporting the original item keeps the concern attached to the account or content involved.

  1. Open the post or profile you want to report.
  2. Open its three-dot menu and select Report.
  3. Select the category that matches the conduct.
  4. Complete the report and submit it. If the form asks for details, identify the statement or behavior and explain the relevant context.

Explain What Happened

Describe the conduct rather than only labeling the account. For impersonation, identify who the account claims to represent and which profile details make that claim. For harassment, explain repeated unwanted contact or coordination when it is relevant. For a threat, identify the statement and surrounding exchange. Separate what the account actually did from what you suspect, and do not add unrelated accusations.

Do Not Repost Harmful Material

Do not publish another copy of private information, illegal material, or a threatening image to draw attention to your report. Report the original instead. Check screenshots for unrelated private details before including them in a request. Do not ask others to investigate a person's identity or circulate the material. Reporting is a way to request review, not permission to repeat the violation.

Choose the Right Follow-Up

A report does not automatically remove content or penalize an account. Reports are assessed against the Community Guidelines; a high report count does not establish a violation. Mute or block an account if you want to stop seeing its posts or address unwanted contact. Request a Factcheck when the issue is a checkable factual claim. To challenge a decision against your own account, use the appeal attached to that decision instead of reporting the person who made it.
